A Season of Hope

“Three things will last forever–faith, hope, and love–and the greatest of these is love.” – 1 Corinthians 13:13

The original Christmas story is one of Providence. God is meeting the greatest needs of His people by giving  an unfathomable gift. He gave His son and ultimately Himself. She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’ The story is so complex. The stars align (figuratively and somewhat literally) as God speaks, encourages, heals hurts and guides. Today each of us can experience our own story with God.

For these Sewells our story is one of God giving us hope during a hard time. Some of you may know that this past September we miscarried. We lost a child. The grieving process has been a mixture of pain and beauty. The hurt has been heavy and often surprising, the healing slow, but the kindness of God great. It’s been a season of knowing Immanuel – God with us. He has been near, His presence close and almost tangible.

A Season of Hope – Ornament

I was searching on eBay for an ornament, and God helped me find this one. I knew immediately it was for us. It is a wreath of doves, and the text reads “A Season of Hope”. For us, God used something so simple to assure us there is hope. Hope for our futures and hope that is simply found in knowing Him.

“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” – Romans 15:13

Faith, hope, and love–and the most underrated is hope. We pray that God will fill you with hope and reveal His providence in your lives this Christmas. The God who is with us cares intimately for His people. Reach out to Him. Let Him show you your story.

Blessings! We love you all.
